Holdover Pro Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Holdover Pro app (the "App") does with information. KármánLogs LLC ("KármánLogs", "we", "us") publishes the App. Our separate KármánLogs Privacy Policy covers the KármánLogs logbook app and the karmanlogs.com website; this page covers Holdover Pro only.
In short: Holdover Pro has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. What you enter stays on your device. The App contacts a few public aviation services to fetch weather and registry information, and our website to check for revised holdover tables.
1. Information that stays on your device
The following is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, in the App's own storage and its widget storage. We do not receive it, and it is not synced to iCloud by the App:
- aircraft you add (tail number, type, registry details, holdover settings and which holdover tables, FAA or Transport Canada, the aircraft uses);
- trip records: date, aircraft, airport, the weather report used, the fluid, the holdover table and cell, times, alerts and the outcome;
- your settings, operator checklist items and favourite fluids;
- the running holdover, shown in the Live Activity and widgets.
Your device's own backup (for example an iCloud or computer backup of the device) may include this data under Apple's terms. Deleting the App deletes this data from the device.
2. Location and motion
With your permission, the App uses your device's location to pick the nearest airport and, while a holdover runs, together with the barometer (motion and fitness permission), to estimate whether the aircraft is airborne. This is processed on your device. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else. Only the airport identifier the App picked (for example "KTEB") is used for the weather requests in section 3.
You can refuse or turn off location and motion access at any time in the device's Settings; you can then choose the airport yourself, and the App asks you to confirm when you are airborne.
3. Services the App contacts
The App connects directly from your device to these services. Each receives the request and the usual network information (such as your IP address and device type) under its own privacy terms:

Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and requested file) for a short period for security and operation. We do not use them to identify or track you.
4. Purchases
The Season Pass is sold and billed by Apple. We do not receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. Apple tells the App whether a subscription is active; Apple's privacy policy covers the purchase.
5. Notifications and alarms
Holdover alerts, alarms and the Live Activity are created on your device. They are not sent through our servers.
6. What we do not do
- We do not collect accounts, names, email addresses or contacts through the App.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
7. Sharing that you choose
If you export or share a trip record (for example as a PDF), it goes only where you send it.
8. Children
The App is intended only for trained aviation professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Your choices and rights
Because the App keeps your data on your device, you can see, change, export or delete it in the App, or remove everything by deleting the App. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act; for any question or request, contact us below.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the version and date above and, for material changes, tell you in the App.
