Import your logbook from another app (CSV, Excel, TSV)

Updated July 3, 2026

You should not have to retype your career. (New to digital logging entirely? The electronic pilot logbook page covers what to look for before you commit.) KármánLogs imports your history from a CSV, Excel (.xlsx), or TSV file exported from any logbook app, and it recognizes popular formats automatically.

How it works

  1. Export your logbook from your current app (CSV, Excel, or TSV).
  2. In KármánLogs, tap Settings in the bottom tab bar, then Import Data, then Import Logbook.
  3. Pick the file. KármánLogs fingerprints it and chooses the best path:

If the format is recognized (KármánLogs has dedicated importers for popular logbook apps, including LogTen Pro and FDManager), you get a Confirm Import screen showing what was detected, how many flights, and the date range. Dedicated importers know that format's complete column schema, so every supported field comes across with full fidelity. Tap Import All Fields and you are done.

If the format is not recognized, Import AI analyzes your file and maps its columns to logbook fields for you. You then see a Review Import screen with the proposed mapping, row previews, and any warnings, adjust anything that looks off, then import. You can save the mapping as a profile so the next file from the same source imports instantly.

Reviewing your aircraft afterward

Imports bring in your aircraft as well as your flights. After the import, a Review Aircraft step walks you through each imported aircraft so you can confirm its category and class, engine type, and characteristics (you can also tap Done Later and finish anytime). Getting these right is what makes your totals, currency, and reports accurate.

Tips for a clean import

  • Export with as many columns as your old app allows; more columns means a richer import.
  • Keep your original export file as a backup until you have confirmed everything looks right in KármánLogs.
  • Big logbooks are fine: the import shows progress flight-by-flight and handles thousands of entries.
