OOOI times power the automatic night, takeoff, and landing logging

Updated June 5, 2026

One of the things KármánLogs does for you is calculate night time and log your takeoffs and landings automatically. The key thing to know: this only works once you enter your OOOI times.

What OOOI means

OOOI is the standard set of four flight times:

  • OUT — block out (you leave the gate or parking).
  • OFF — wheels up (takeoff).
  • ON — wheels down (landing).
  • IN — block in (you arrive and park).

Why the times are required

Night, takeoffs, and landings are calculated from time and position. The app needs to know when you were off the ground and where you were to work out whether it was night and to count each takeoff and landing. No times means there is nothing to calculate from.

So the rule is simple: enter your OOOI times, and the automatic math fills in the rest.

If night, takeoffs, or landings are not appearing

  • Make sure you have entered the OFF and ON times at minimum, those are the takeoff and landing.
  • Check that the times and the airports or positions are correct.
  • Times are recorded in Zulu (UTC); confirm they look right.

If you would rather, you can always enter night, takeoffs, and landings by hand. The automatic calculation is there to save you the effort once your times are in.
